Part Time Courses and Evening Classes

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

When it comes to learning another language, you are never too old to start. There are many benefits to knowing another language, especially where English is concerned as it is spoken in so many countries throughout the world. However some   people may feel like they haven’t got enough time to spare when it comes to learning the language. Luckily there is a simple solution to this problem- taking a part time English course, or even evening classes.

Part time courses

With the part time courses you can still learn the language, but with less time spent in the classroom each week. You still get the chance to do one of the full time courses that are available at the school, so you don’t miss out on finding the right course to suit your needs for learning the language. The only difference is that instead of attending 5 classes a week, you can attend from 2 days a week, so you don’t have to give up on all your other commitments.

Evening classes

If you can’t spare time during the day to learn English, then the evening classes may be just the thing you need to help you learn or improve with the language. The evening classes run from anything from 2 weeks up to 48 weeks so it can be another useful way to help you learn the language.

Wake me up when September Ends

Monday, September 7th, 2009

A sad day for all last Friday when, after ten years of faithful service to The English Studio, Zac Rawlinson departed for pastures new. While we are all going to miss him terribly, we wish him luck with his PGCE and his future career as a Secondary School teacher of History.

Personally, I’ve got Zac to thank for helping me overcome my post-holiday blues. After two weeks of glorious sunshine and heavenly relaxation in Madrid, I returned to  my work as Director of Studies last week and I’d be lying if I said the transition was easy. I’d been looking forward to my holiday for months and now it’s over, there doesn’t seem to be much to look forward to until Christmas – and that seems like years away.

It was Zac who told me yesterday, ‘To be honest, I don’t mind the fact that summer is over. Okay, the evenings are going to be shorter, but at least it’s not muggy: I like the fact that it’s cooled down and I love the way the leaves change and fall as summer bleeds into autumn. It reminds me of where I come from in Yorkshire’

He’s right, you know. The change of season reminds me of where I come from in Ireland too.

The other person who has helped me overcome my post-holiday depression is Johan Christopher Bach, older brother of the immortal composer, Johan Sebastian.

When Bach’s parents died he was only ten years old and his older brother took him in. To staunch his little sibling’s seemingly endless tears, Johan Christopher said to him, ‘Sebastian, you’re a man now. Men don’t cry; they work.’

Men don’t cry; they work. It’s not a bad way of looking at things….

Cheap courses, Dear teachers!!!!

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

If you are looking for a cheap English course with quality teachers you found!!!At the English Studio you can have dear teachers at a budget price!I don’t know all the teachers but the ones I do are simply fantastic.

Zac was my first teacher in the school and I have to say that his sense of humour and dynamic classes helped me to learn English faster.

John is a legend and a very good story –teller in a positive way. Vicky is full of energy and very communicative which makes the English lessons soooo interesting! Sean is the party man, I had only couple of classes with him enough to have a very good impression…

At the English Studio learning English is a continuous process with a combination of speaking, listening, writing skills, reading and even singing as Mike mentioned previously.

I just got my CAE certificate and without a doubt these teachers were part of that!

It is a priceless experience you must have!!!

Take Care and see you around!!

my co-bloggers

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

I have chosen some students to blog alongside me, and to give as much useful info as they can about life here, its complexities, its triumphs and disasters. For this I have recruited

  • David from Brazil-
  • Yumi Kobayashi from Japan-
  • Carina from Mexico -
  • Luis from Colombia-

They all received a cool free laptop in return for doing this blog for us, so you can’t say we don’t take care of our students!

Please feel free to get in touch with them with any questions you may have about their lives in London!

Our growing school- Catton Street

Monday, October 13th, 2008

we started very small at the English Studio, with about ten students or so, and we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved here, growing in ten years to have more than a thousand students on the books. We are now opening a new school, a sister to our Holborn branch at High Holborn, just around the corner from that school. This means we will be doing lots of exciting new things;

  • opening a new larger student room with net access for all, and a place to sit, chill, and have a bit to eat and drink
  • giving our building a supercool new look
  • expanding our range of courses to include new programmes to fit everybody’s needs

Which means we’re all quite busy! For me as director, it means looking for new teachers too- people with the right energy, enthusiasm and commitment to help us keep growing as a school. It’s the teachers who make the whole experience for the students, so it’s the most important thing!
