Living and Working in London with Marco Paris

At the English Studio we help many of our students find work to support themselves while they take an English course in London. Marco Paris, 23 is a recent mechanical engineering graduate from near Rome. He came to learn English in London for a few months before starting his Masters.

A friend recommended the English Studio to me and I feel it’s got a good balance between price and quality. Somebody at Reception told me about the recruitment event in May and I thought, ‘Why not?’ I was a little nervous at the beginning that my English wouldn’t be good enough because I hadn’t spoken any English for three and a half years, but it was great.

Veronica and another girl from Prime were really friendly and they had a relaxed conversation with me about who I was and what I wanted to do. I have studied all my life, so I had no experience in anything, but there was plenty of work available as a cleaner or attendant – and in the end I chose the job of spa attendant.

What I liked most was the fact that in nearly all the jobs I was offered, the managers were British and the staff came from all over the world, so everybody spoke English and it was good to practise my English in ‘The Real World.’

My classes with Sarah Chapman were really brilliant because she made sure that everybody spoke – we were almost forced to speak in our Upper-intermediate class and I noticed a big improvement in my two months at the English Studio. Because of the great work Sarah did and the confidence it gave me, I was able to use the language I learned in class in a working environment.

Another thing I liked about Prime is that they were very precise about payment; there were never any mistakes in my pay slip and I was always able to call the office with any problems or questions I had. London is expensive and I’m lucky I had a place to stay with my sister; otherwise,I would have to work many more hours, because of my lack of experience. Waiting staff and chefs, for example, can make a lot more money.

My experience with Prime has been a very positive one and I would recommend them to other English Studio students. The hours are flexible and working for Prime is perfect for foreign students in London.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Agradezco enormemente a John, Renatta. Super recomendable! Gracias The English Studio!!! Nos vemos el año que viene! :-)

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve had a great experience studying English here. The teachers are professional, supportive, and always encourage students to speak and improve their confidence.

As an international student, I felt welcome from the beginning. Everyone speaks English, which creates a great learning environment and helps you improve quickly.

One of the best things about this college is meeting people from all over the world. I’ve made many international friends, and some of them have become close friends both inside and outside the college. I’ve learned about different cultures, and I even hope to visit some of them in their countries one day.

I would definitely recommend this college to anyone looking to improve their English, especially international students.

Loving my language school so far—the teacher explains everything so clearly and the vibe is great.
First week already made me realise 😅 time to seriously work on my grammar and vocabulary.

Before I started the course I had taken a placement test, apart from that the focus in the course was on what my personal needs were.
The location of the school is perfect!
Thanks for everything!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A great school with teachers who truly listen to their students.

Before starting, you have a short phone call with John to understand your goals and guide you towards the program that suits you best.

I completed a 12-week Business English program with Steve and Ben. My goal was to reach a level of English that would allow me to confidently attend job interviews in English.

Thanks to this training, I was able to approach interviews with confidence, which ultimately helped me secure a job in London.

I would definitely recommend this school.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I spent 5 weeks at English Studio attending an intensive Business English course, and it was an outstanding experience.

Unlike traditional courses, the programme is highly personalised and focused on what each student truly needs. The methodology is innovative and extremely effective, allowing you to make real progress in a short time.

A special thank you to my Business English teacher, Steve, who was incredibly professional and engaging. His lessons were practical, relevant, and often based on real-life business simulations. In the afternoons, sessions with Ben and Denis were equally valuable — from improving fluency through everyday conversations to exploring distinctively British expressions and cultural insights.

I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a focused, dynamic, and truly effective English course.
