The story of English Studio is very much the same story that we want to see reflected in the future success of our students.

The school was founded in 1997 in humble beginnings, having two rooms above a pirate radio station in West London, but the founder, Mairead Fanning had a vision of where she wanted to take English Studio. Through hard work and a lot of sacrifice it grew to take over two whole buildings in London’s Shepherds Bush and in 2001 Phil Barnett joined as Director of Studies.

Students learning English in LondonEnglish Studio gained British Council accreditation in 2003 and then opened more teaching centres in central London in 2005. The schools continued growth and an ever greater diversity of nationalities firmly established the schools as London’s most popular low cost, high quality English language centre.

In 2010 a teacher training arm was added to the school in our new building in Bloomsbury Square – running 14 courses a year. The continued growth in quality was further evidenced in 2012 when the school gained accreditation by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. Regularly providing courses for more than 800 students each week, English Studio was now firmly established as one of the UK’s biggest language schools.

Recognising that success, the school was purchased by the Real Experience Group in 2015. It was clearly seen that the great programmes and fantastic prices delivered by the English Studio should be the building block for a worldwide network of truly value for money training institutions, and in 2016 ECM College Dublin was welcomed into the English Studio family. We are starting on our next, very exciting journey and it would be great to have you come with us.
