London’s Top 5 Christmas Markets

Whether you have run out of ideas for your never-ending Christmas shopping list or you just feel like sampling traditional treats, London has the best options for Christmas aficionados. And most of them are free! This is our selection of the top 5 markets for the festive season:

  1. Winter Wonderland: Running from 20 November 2015 until 3 January 2016 (except Christmas Day), Winter Wonderland transforms a large area of Hyde Park in a true Christmas celebration. A huge choice of options makes it one of London’s most loved attractions. Expect ice rinks, food stalls, two circuses, fairground rides and plenty of ideas for your shopping list.
  2. Covent Garden Christmas: If it’s lighting extravaganza what you’re looking for, search no more. Nested in the heart of London, Covent Garden’s Christmas Market is open from 12 November 2015 to 2 January 2016.
  3. Southbank Centre Winter Market: With 80 wooden chalets stretched along the riverside, you can browse a large selection of toys and gifts. For the food lovers, most stalls offer samples of their festive snacks and drinks. The Real Food Market joins them at weekends. From 20 November 2015 to 24 December 2015.
  4. Columbia Road Christmas Wednesdays: Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the shops of Columbia Road will be opening on four consecutive Wednesday nights in December: 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd. Here you can find vintage fashion, off-beat artwork, original homewares, quirky trinkets and delicious deli goods.
  5. Winterville: The most popular festive playground of 2014 is back for a second year in Victoria Park, East London. You can enjoy live music, browse the alternative selection of gifts, taste festive treats, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of one of London’s creative hubs. From 26 November to 23 December 2015.
